Quick question: Which is the first place that comes to your mind when you are craving for delectable shawarmas? If your answer matches mine, I have awesome news for you! Shawarma Nation has opened up a new outlet in Chinar Park (Rajarhat), opposite Holiday Inn.
Done up in pinewood with a dash of colours, this new outlet has two seating areas (eight-seater indoor and twelve-seater open air), an open kitchen and free parking facility. If you are a meat lover, chances are the humble shawarma is high up on the list of your most favourite food. There is perhaps no better place in the city if you are looking to dig into some scrumptious shawarma-infused burgers, wraps and subs. They have over 10 different varieties of this Middle-Eastern street grub. I tried the Persian Grilled Chicken Shawarma with Pita Wrap and was instantly transported to my happy place. Don’t even get me started on the deliciously Crunchy Fish Sharwarma Wrap. The fish fillet in it is marinated in spices and then deep fried to give you the most pleasurable explosion of flavours in each bite.
It’s indeed raining Lebanese awesomeness at this new eatery. Apart from the usual, they have shawarma salads, rice bowls, Middle-Eastern grills, Iranian chelo kebabs and hummus (veg & non-veg) served with pita bread. What I really recommend you must try is their Shish Taouk. This traditionally marinated chicken shish kebab was a part of the Ottoman cuisine before it was included in the Middle Eastern cuisine. The grilled chicken skewers are served with a generous helping of the lip-smacking lebanese dip. Hummus for health, anyone? Try the Hummus Beiruti. Classic hummus served with a little tweak, does wonders to the palate and your health (of course!).
