How I would love to go street shopping in the narrow lanes and bylanes of the city, hunting for those one of a kind, handmade and offbeat pieces that would make for great conversation starters. Alas, here I am, sitting with my laptop, looking to do exactly that albeit virtually and look what I found - Soraya by K.
This label does handmade, fabric jewellery that can really spruce up a dull OOTD in a jiffy. They have some really interesting designs that are made out of pure cotton fabric highlighted with natural stone crystals, ghungroos, sea cowrie shells, etc giving you jewellery that can be paired with both casuals as well as formals. Be wowed by their collection of fabric necklaces available in a variety of prints such as plaid, batik, block and floral prints. I could not take my eyes off a beautiful red kanta necklace, handcrafted to perfection. That pop of red is sure to make a statement like no other. If you are forever chasing rainbows, maybe it’s time to get yourself one. Check out the very pretty Rongbahari Necklace made out of upcycled gamcha fabric finished with cowrie shell embellishment. I also quite liked the idea of their potli-style neck pieces, full of colours and pretty little details. Another one that caught my eye was the Owl Necklace handcrafted in jute with tassel details at the bottom. Just the kind of magic you may want to add to your attire. These pieces may look bulky but as it is fabric, it’s lightweight and comfortable to wear all day.
