Today I wish to talk about a hidden gem in DoverLane - The Zs' Precinct - where else in Kolkata will you find a Boutique, ArtGallery, ReadingCafe, Heritage HomeStay & a ContinentalCafe - all under the same roof run by one man who is extremely passionate about each one of those verticals - talking about RajeshSen da who is focused towards showcasing the age-old lost Calcutta (not today's Kolkata) - once you step in - you are bound to be lost in peace & tranquillity that this space with aesthetic decor provides far away from the urban cacophony yet in the heart of the city.
All that you might hear are birds chirping & some classic jazz playing in the background. Currently, open from 11 am till 9 pm daily with all sanitization protocols in place - you are bound to lose track of time once you are inside.
Will focus on MobysLarder now - the continental cafe that resides with a subtle presence inside this wonderful world of affairs - tried the following delicacies & walked out gastronomically happy & satisfied to the tee.
Beckti Concasse - fillet of Kolkata bhetki in concasse served with a poached egg and spaghetti Aglio e olio on the side.
Fillet of beckti in South East Asian sauce with coconut milk. Ginger rice on the side.
Fusilli Arrabiata with smoked sausage and garlic toast on the side.
Fillet of beckti in capers, almond and cream sauce with pomegranate rice on the side - the pomegranate rice was to die for & a unique preparation indeed.
Chicken Forrestier - Pan-roasted chicken breast with mushroom filling and top with creamy mushroom sauce.
Eggless vegetable bake with beans, bell peppers, broccoli, capsicum, mushroom in two cheese sauce - I had no clue a pure vegetarian eggless dish can be so dear to my tastebuds.
Home-baked focaccia cupcake with homemade sun-dried tomato in olive oil.
