The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose airport is all set to start using clean and green energy for its daily operations and we couldn’t be happier {hopefully, it’s one step closer to not becoming like Delhi with its pollution levels}.
The 15 MW plant is the biggest capacity-wise among all the AAI airports across the country. It was inaugurated recently by Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju. Once the plant becomes operational, carbon emissions from the airport will be drastically reduced as will the electricity bill for the massive newly-improved airport.
Anything Else?
The airport has recently been going through some dramatic changes – apart from the floor-to-ceiling glass appearance, we’ve also seen a number of new F&B outlets {including another Flurys outlet!} opening at the airport.
