What Makes It Awesome

We are all adventurers, path-finders. We are all students. We are all creative and gifted. We are all artists and learners. We are all experts at something. Be it music and melody, art, photography, dance, writing and so on. The artist in each one of us needs to be heeded and to its chock-full capability. But no worries people of Kolkata! This is exactly what The Chaitown Creatives are up to. They offer live events like open mics, singing hurdles and get-togethers, workshops and various various various opportunities and help connect with other artists and advance in their skills and their passion and dedication. They are one of those people who desire to see variations of artists in the City of Joy become better identified for their skills. Art and music, in a world like today, is a sole happiness factor that brings puts people in-sync on so many contrasting layers. One of the core values of the Chaitown people is - connecting, and it’s beautiful, how art and melody do just that. Chaitown was evoked 5 years ago by Zachary Ray, co founder at Chaitown Creatives and a Berklee Alumnus. Zac, re-located from Boston to Kolkata with his mate Amanda and there was no turning back. The duo has been doing a considerable job of keeping the populace of local artists united and giving them a floor to lay out their artwork to different onlookers. By connecting artists from across the city, they hope to connect artists with even greater audiences and also encourage young artists.

What's My Pro Tip?

The Chaitown Creatives host a number of events which include - The Artist Collective, On the Wall, Open Mics and Arcadia Sessions. And a lot more workshops and home-grown exhibitions. Follow them up on their Facebook page and keep track of all the creative events - { https://www.facebook.com/chaitowncreatives/ }.

Anything Else?

They have had a number of Berklee College of Music professors, graduates and Angie Miller (American Idol 3rd-place runner-up in 2012) come visit in India to help work with the young artists and musicians. They recently have been connected with the US Consulate in Kolkata working as a bridge between India and the US using music and arts to build that bridge and relationship.
