*Turkish Food Festival Alert*
Cafe Mezzuna is hosting Turkish Food Festival from 13th November. Get ur hands on some authentic Turkish delights which will transport you to the lanes of Turkey with its taste. Bask in the earthy aroma of native Turkish delicacies with an array of the menu has been hand-picked by the chef's including Kebabs, shawarmas, tagine and desserts too.
We tried out the "Barbequed Avari and Roasted Peppers" (veg) from the Shawarma section. The fillings consist of diced potatoes along with cubes of paneer tossed in barbecue sauce. From the Kebabs, we had the smoky "Prawn Chermoula" on skewers and the utterly delicious "Turkish Chicken Sish" ( kind of creamy grilled chicken skewers) and "Lahm Meshwi" (lamb galouti Kebabs) sure to kick off the taste of every kebab lovers. All the Shawarma's and Kebabs are accompanied by Masala Potato wedges, Hummus and Garlic dip.
Next up the Tagine Section consisted of 4 dishes out of which we had the "Green beans and Spiced Avari" and "Machboos Ala Dajaj" ( basically fancy chicken Biryani and it's a must-try from the menu).
The Sides section had the simple yet flavourful "Chickpeas n Mint Rice" (recommended) and "Turkish chilli marinated Grilled veggies" (zucchini, Bell peppers, onion etc). Ending off with the desserts Ataif Makhli.
Some recommendations would be :
1. Lahm Meshwi
2. Turkish Chicken Shish
3. Machboos ala Dajaj
4. Chickpea n Mint Rice along with any Chinese gravy.
