First look at Warehouse Café in South City Mall and my initial thoughts were soft grunge, given its rock-like bar setup. The 4,500 sq ft aesthetic area dons sculptures of monkeys and birds, a solid red against the backdrop of a charcoal grey; creating a peculiar dungeon-like atmosphere that feels chic. The sleek, long windows with huge doors reflect factory interiors, while the magnificent metal arched ceilings represent warehouse metal trusses. With a capacity of 150, the interior design is amassed from raw warehouse elements to create a beautiful designer café with fancy chandeliers. The quirky wallpaper breaks the stereotype but the USP lies in the menu.
Warehouse Cafe’s diverse menu is curated diligently. One shall be spoilt for choice here - from Middle Eastern cuisine to Italian, and Japanese; every dish holds up to the brand ethos of providing a memorable dining experience. Begin with delectable appetizers from the Small Plates menu, with dishes like Lucy Cheesy Wonton, Crispy Pork, Truffle and Parmesan Fries, Kadai Paneer Nachos, Spring Rolls et cetera, and then work up your appetite for mains. I absolutely loved the Grilled Bhetki. Also try the Mushroom and Cream Cheese Dimsums, Tempura Shrimp Tacos, and Katsu Chicken Bao. The Hariyali Chicken Tikka is a must. They also have Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisines; try the Harissa Kebab, Chicken Joojeh Kebab, and Kebab Platter, if you’re in a group. The Pasta Bowls that include Penne Alfredo, Penne Pesto, Aglio Olio, Penne Arrabiata, and the classic Spaghetti Carbonara is an absolute delight to Italian lovers if that’s what you are after.
The bar menu features some stiff cocktails that you wouldn’t want to miss. Try Delhi 6, Candy Floss Gin, and the Signature Chapman, which is an absolute hit. To end the meal, definitely get the Biscoff Cheesecake. If you’re craving Indian flavors, try the Tres Leches that taste exactly like Rasmalai and you shan’t be disappointed.
