Aajisai Kolkata

The sushi conveyor belt is the most impressive feature of Aajisai. "Please pick up your dish," a recorded voice says courteously as your dish is placed on a white tray. The colourful plates below continue to move along a belt; each colour has a distinct meaning. Choose your favourite, then savour your sushi in style! We call this revolving belt system kaiten-zushi. Aajisai serves sushi, soba noodles, tempura, and kushikatsu, which is bread-crumb-coated, deep-fried meat or vegetables. The Prawn Nigiri and Teriyaki Chicken are cooked to perfection. The menu's specially crafted silver holders with the ajisai flower are a nod to Japan's rainy season. Teppanyaki, a fun Japanese cooking method, involves grilling meat or vegetables on a large hot plate in the centre of the table. There are separate plates for vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine at Aajisai. The chef prepares everything in front of you while you sit around the table.
