Globus in Lake Mall
This place gets a full 5 stars for convenience and range. The store houses numerous brands and the prices can dip as low as INR 499 and go as high as INR 6,000 depending on the brands you are after. From casual outfits {for the less fussy festive dresser} to funky and quirky options, the curation of the best of brands will give you a wide variety under one roof.
Byloom
Want to go traditional this season? Byloom has the most sophisticated, classy kurtas and quirky printed shirts for reasonable prices. Check out this taxi printed shirt I picked up from there and styled to create this fun outfit!
My Pro Tip: Go ahead and pick up their fabrics which you can use as a shawl to style any outfit.

Online Accessories
Picking up the perfect accessories for an outfit can be a pain, so online stores would be your best bet. The Pataaka store has the most quirky collection of bowties {think cartoon and newspaper printed}. A little on the steep side, the bowties start at INR 2,000 but are well worth a festive splurge. The Bro Code and Koovs are also my wingmen whenever new stuff is needed for my closet.
Handloom Cottage
You’ve probably seen this store above Café Drifter but the MG Road collection has better a better range. Pick up exquisite one-of-a-kind fabrics from here which you can transform into unique outfits.

Not satisfied yet? You can always bank on Prapti fashions for classy festive wear. If you want something original, the new kid on the block Yajy, designed by Aditya Jain, just launched on Mahalaya and has affordable festive coats and kurtas.

Stitch It Up
Looking to get your clothes customised? This tailor will do it for you {and if you haggle with him, he’ll even get it done under 24 hours!}. If you’re going from Gariahat towards Jadavpur University, you’ll find Ali’s tailor shop on the right if AMRI is on your left. The landmark is there is a Kohinoor House right opposite the shop.
He can even customise embroidery onto your fabrics and design an outfit just by looking at a picture! A week is more than enough time to get a fabulous outfit stitched from him so you can still make it in time for Diwali.
