You're only a true Calcuttan if your 3am and 3pm comfort food is either Bengali or Chinese. If you nodded your head in agreement to that, then this place is going to be your go-to forever.
This New Eatery Is Every Calcuttan's Dream - Bengali And Chinese Under One Roof
What Makes It Awesome
One roof, two cuisines: Bongnese. Not that you haven't guessed it already, but we will still say it. Bengali and Chinese in the same place. It's like this place was specially thought of with Kolkata in mind. Our addiction to a good chowmein and the ever-lasting love for a Daab Chingri is not a Kolkata secret. Bongnese is going to plug both cuisines to be every local's first choice.
Their decor is a wonderful blend of China and Bengal. Colours, lights, furniture, props - everything depicts cultures of both places. They have also drawn (literally) a similarity between Beijing and Kolkata's busy streets and found them a house on their walls.
With equal parts of Bengal and China in there, the menu is a well thought out balance of both cuisines. The Bengal part of it is not restricted to just West, but spreads it's boundaries to East Bengal, as well. Syletti Kebab, Paneer Kaalia, Dhakai Bhuna Morog, Narkel Koromchar Soup - this is a sneak peek of their menu. Head there soon to experience this first-of-its-kind blend.
