Situated very close to the main town, Soods has a lot of rooms that overlook the mountains. I was lucky enough to get one with a balcony, from where the town was perfectly visible. But the early morning view is to die for, when the skies are clear and the mountain peaks are visible to the naked eye. The panorama of the mountain peaks and whole of the Kalimpong town in one frame is too picturesque to describe in words.
The best part about the hotel is the lovely garden area overlooking the cliff. If you are an early riser, you can't resist the temptation of sitting on the tables laid out there, sip on your morning cup of coffee or tea, have your breakfast and just enjoy your date with the mountains. Similarly, there are benches laid out too, and Soods gives the guests an option to light a bonfire in case you want to enjoy the evening with some hot pakoras.
