The city is buzzing with events and this one is going to top every musichead's list - Goethe Institut is back with their Border Movement Lounge (BML). Heads up for the noobs, the Border Movement Lounge are a series of music events that wants to bridge borders between South Asia and Germany with emerging electronic music.
This is their seventh edition. After Burdwan Palace, Hooghly Jute Mills and Gem Cinema, this alt music show is setting up stage in Tolly Club, with fab artists like Golden Disko Ship (Berlin), Kini Rao (Mumbai) and Plastic Parvati (Kolkata).
On stage will be the electronic / acoustic sound beats of Theresa Stroetges (aka, Golden Disko Ship) who is known for her one-girl orchestra performances; Suyasha Sengupta's (aka, Plastic Parvati) electronic pop which segues into conversations about gender roles, binaries and sexuality; and techno mixed media beats of DJ Kini Rao.
