Theatre goers, dance practitioners and others, don't give this opportunity as miss as the Kolkata Literary Meet (KLM) and Pickle Factory brings in the collective of three Wales-based dance artists - Deborah Light, Eddie Ladd and Gwyn Emberton - to Kolkata with their celebrated 2014 performance CAITLIN. An award-winning performance that has travelled across the world since 2014, it charts the tumultuous relationship that Caitlin shared with her famous husband, the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
His stirring words of 'rave, rage' and '...not go gentle into the good night' have left scores of us inspired, but the turbulent life of Dylan Thomas still leaves us to grapple with speculations. CAITLIN starts post his death, when his widowed wife sits in an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meet and revisits her relationship with Dylan. As Caitin and Dylan drink, fight, love and leave each other, the audience sits as a part of the AA meet and bears witness to a physical and powerful duet that explores love, adultery, addiction and jealousy.
A gripping and strong performance, there are only 4 shows with 20 audience each scheduled to be held here. So, hurry up and book your seats before they get sold out.
