What Is It?

The World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) celebrates The World Fair Trade Day every year on the second Saturday of May. So mark your calendar for May 12. Join the rest of the world with our city’s fair trade store Sasha as they showcase garments made by fair trade brands that promote economic empowerment of small producers, gender equality in work places and responsible manufacturing practices for sustainable development.

Who Is It For?

It’s for everyone actually who cares for the sustainable development of the earth and who cares to ensure sustainable livelihoods for small and disadvantaged producers and traders. Support this movement of fair trade to help artisans and small traders, and also participate as a shopper to create more opportunities for them.

And to keep up with this good vibe there’ll also be good soul music by the awesome duo of Hania Luthufi and Nabanita Sarkar.

Why Should I Go For It?

To celebrate this occasion, Sasha is showcasing a collection of garments made by fair trade brands in their store. From handmade organic textiles to garments made of indigenous crafts like Rajasthani prints, applique work and Kantha work, the Sasha will showcase such brands like RangSutra, Kumbaya, Paromita Banerjee and Maku.
