7 Dhabas In Kolkata Where All Night Crawlers Can Binge On A Budget
Balwant Singh’s Eating House
This dhaba is an iconic outlet in Kolkata and is open till 4 AM in the morning. They are famous for their doodh-cola (a mixture of milk with Coca-Cola). You can’t miss out on their Paneer Tikka and Kesar Chai. Word to the wise – they only serve pure vegetarian food.
Russel Punjabi Dhaba
Formerly known as Bharat Hindu Hotel, they are famous for their drive-in services and open shop at the break of dawn. They are one of the most authentic Punjabi joints in town. We recommend you try their piping hot aloo paranthas, chicken bharta, masala chai and kesari lassi.
Jai Hind Dhaba
Almost always crowded past midnight, this dhaba is a popular hit among late night party-goers. Their mutton keema, chicken tandoori and chicken butter masala are popular favourites. They also have great service with really prompt late-night home deliveries.
They remain open 24 hours and (arguably) serve the best chicken bharta in town. The service is prompt and the food is reasonably priced.
Sher-e-Punjab is located around a kilometre away from Kolkata airport. Along with delicacies like tandoori chicken, rahra mutton and chicken bharta, you can also enjoy a pint of beer at this dhaba.
Azad Hind Dhaba
This is one of the oldest dhabas in Kolkata with outlets spread all over the city. They specialise in tandoori items so make sure to give them a try!
If you’re on a tight budget yet don’t want to miss out on some delicious dhaba food, this age-old joint just beside Kalighat metro is your saviour. Their Tandoori Chicken, Kulfi Faluda, Masala Kulcha, Lassi, Paneer Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Chaap are some of the popular favourites.
