Get Your Groove Back

Digital music might have taken over the world but nothing can replace vintage vinyl records. The joy of playing it on record players on a merry occasion is something different. The 7-decade-old shop called Vibrations situated at Mirza Ghalib Street will definitely put a smile on your face. And you will be left in awe looking at the amazing collection of vinyls.

Passed Down Two Generations

Vibrations was founded by the grandfather of the present owner, Mohammed Shah Nawaz, back in 1940s. He started selling gramophones and 78 RPM records which are compatible with the former during that time. In 1960, the craze for vinyl started increasing, and that’s when he began to stock up on first-rate records. Vibrations then not only started attracting local customers, but also visiting foreigners.

In 1980, the era of cassettes and audio tapes took over, so they decided to include those to their business as well. But a decease in demand led Shah Nawaz to introduce garments related to music {which also turned out to be quite a success}.
