It’s an evening celebrating the music of Rabindranath Tagore not just through traditional Rabindrasangeet but also via interpretations of the songs. Expect Tagore songs and their English versions, and the music that explores the influence of raagas on Tagore songs.

One of the stellar performances will be by musician duo vocalist Soumyojit and pianist Sourendro {they directed the music for the Indian national anthem which had featured 40 legendary musicians as part of their album, Jaya Hey}. Their versions of Rabindranath Tagore’s compositions make up their extremely popular album Tagore & We, which has received several prestigious music awards and nominations. They have collaborated with eminent filmmakers Aparna Sen and Rituparno Ghosh on stage productions, and with noted German singer/composer Stefan Stoppok in their major works.
The evening will also see singers from Bangladesh, Pramit Sen, siblings Srabani Sen and Indrani Sen {who will do both traditional Tagore songs and English versions}, and Iman Chakraborty — who won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer 2017 for her song Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho, from Praktan.
