The Longest Ropeway Ride In India Will Soon Open In Guwahati And We Can't Keep Calm

Shortcut

Planning a trip to Guwahati? Then, don’t miss the ropeway ride above the beautiful Brahmaputra River. Yes! The longest cable car ride in India will soon begin operations  in the city and we can't keep calm!

What Makes It Awesome

You cannot miss this epic ropeway ride if you happen to visit Guwahati anytime soon. It will offer not just an alternative mode of transport for the people but also stunning views of the majestic Brahmaputra  River and other attractions.

The ropeway line is about two kilometres long and takes you to the other side in just 7 minutes. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mighty Brahmaputra and other attractions like the Umananda Temple, Urvashi and Peacock islands. The ride goes from Kachari Ghat located in Pan Bazaar to Dol Govinda Temple in North Guwahati and back.

This will not just give all you tourists a chance to soak in the stunning vistas of the city but also shorten the travel time from one part of Guwahati to the other to just 7 minutes from 3 hours! Yes! Three hours. That's how long it takes to travel from the forests of North Guwahati to the buzzing Guwahati city if you travel by road.

The cable cars have been imported from Switzerland and can carry about 30 people at the same time. We don't know how much the ride is gonna cost but, by the looks of it, we are sure it's gonna be one hell of an experience and worth every penny. And you don't even have to worry about being stranded mid-air because they have a reserved line as well in case of any technical snag.

It's expected to start in another six months, guys! Make sure you take a ride.
