If you live in Salt Lake, you've probably been to Haveli at least once for a family lunch or dinner. Well, since you can't enjoy the royal ambience of this vegetarian (sorry meat lovers!) restaurant or gulkand paan and fruit-flavoured ice cream from the shops just outside until we're in better times, why not order in some of their scrumptious and delectable sizzlers, appetisers and Punjabi and Rajasthani dishes to satisfy your food cravings?
We absolutely love the Rajasthani food here so we ordered a portion of Panch Mela Dal (besan dumplings cooked in curd gravy), Gatta Ki Subji (five different varieties of dal cooked and tempered with Indian spices) along with a few Missi Rotis (made of chick pea flour and flavoured with herbs and spices) and Chef Special Gatta Pulao.
But if it's North Indian food that you prefer, go on and order some Punjabi food for yourself. The Dal E Haveli (their version of the popular kaali dal) and Pindi Chana have our heart.
