Hood Guide: Jodhpur Park Is Brimming With Cosy Cafes, Bakeries, Flower Shops & Boutiques

Blue Mug has been the talk of town for quite some time now. It is one of the most favoured hangout places {especially for youngsters} not only because of their cosy ambience but also because they have pocket-friendly prices and both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. Their shakes are really popular. A satisfying meal for two here will set you back by about INR 700 or less.

This was the first café to pop up in Jodhpur Park and it literally owned the café scenario in this hood. One of the most well-

known in the city, Abar Baithak has undergone a revamp — it has two floors now and a theme centre around Kolkata’s favourite sleuth, Feluda. They also have books on sale along with other things like funky coffee mugs, bags and cushions. There’s even a carrom board but you have to be lucky to find that spot empty! It’s spread over two floors. If you are a Feluda fan or just wanna unwind with your people then this it. It costs about INR 550 for two people.

This is a quirkily done-up restaurant serving Bengali, Continental, Thai and Chinese. We loved the cosy adda spot outside with carrom and chess boards. Their Mocha Chingri is now a Kolkata favourite! You have to shell out around INR 600 for two people here.

This is a restaurant serving only Chinese {and some Pan Asian} cuisine. The best part is that they have a lunch buffet at a super-cheap price — INR 249 {plus GST}.

This is a small joint serving hookah, coffee and other fast food eatables. A meal for two will set you back by INR 400 {approx}.

Super-reasonable Chinese food, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff, head over to The Taste Maker if you are in a cash crunch and need some Chinese soul food. A meal for two will be around INR 500.

With a variety of sundaes, shakes, and scoop flavours, this ice cream parlour is a dream. And they keep adding specialities like the Ice Cream Taco. A small seating area means you can plonk yourself down if you want to finish off your treat right there.

You need not go to the Park Street Flurys every time you feel like having their legendary Baba Cakes or Rum Balls. The takeaway store in Jodhpur Park has a range of pastries, cakes, chocolates, cookies, savouries and an assortment of breads.

They have a never-ending menu which can make your head reel but the pizzas are a hot favourite, and the Chinese and Italian dishes are very popular. They also have momos — the sauce they serve it up with is amazing. Cost for two would be around INR 750.

This is the original store that was launched way before the store and cafe came along in Hindustan Park. It’s a treasure trove of beautiful terracotta and ceramic pottery pieces, including some cool jewelry. From crockery to show pieces, they have it all. The clothing section has an excellent collection of sarees and dresses.

This one is a bit of a hidden gem — a small gift store selling jewellery and other ornate gift items imported from Thailand. You can pick up a good gift for your bae and BFF from here.

The oldest flower store in Jodhpur Park, yet they are known for their reasonable prices and a wide range of flowers. You can buy your bae a single rose, or send an elaborate bouquet anywhere in Kolkata.

This ladies-only salon is famous for their spa and make-up services. Look out for the offers that they keep coming up with.
