Art connoisseurs and collectors take note. Emami Art will organise a three-month long exhibition showcasing the artwork of eminent artist Jogen Chowdhury at Kolkata Centre for Creativity from Friday, September 20.
Curated by cultural theorist and poet Ranjit Hoskote, the exhibition will present Chowdhury's oeuvre across the decades. Known for portraying the grim realities of life, the artist also depicts chimeras (half human, half bird) on his paintings, each embodying a humanly instinct. Over 150 paintings and artwork of Chowdhury will be on display here.
