What Makes It Awesome

Wood Street's got a new cafe and we checked it out, obviously.

La Macario has all you need to light up your Instagram feed and satisfy those crazy food cravings. The space is done up beautifully in shades of yellow, green and grey with eco-friendly interiors, potted plants, saplings on every table and creepers hanging from the ceiling. You can also buy homegrown potted plants of ajwain and basil as well as kombucha, nuts, tea and cranberries. Play fun games like Scrabble, Catan, Code Names and UNO with your gang while your food gets ready. There's also a projector put in place for match and film screenings.

The menu is a nice mix of Italian, Thai and Lebanese food along with vegan and keto-friendly options for all you people on a diet. Start off with the Baked Mexican Corn Cheese Dip with Crackers (not nachos or any other kind of crisps. Just some really thin crackers served with a gooey, cheesy dip). It was so good that we ended up ordering another plate! Pasta person? Go for the chef special Penne Lemon Cream Vodka - the vodka-infused dish has a pretty strong yet subtle flavour of lemon making it a must-try while you're here. Another must-have is the Flaky Phyllo Cup Mushroom Rice - it's herbed rice served with a creamy mushroom sauce in an edible cup.

Vegans must try the Mezze Platter that brings together eight delicacies from the Mediterranean but with a twist. It's got fresh herb falafel, roasted beetroot hummus (instead of the regular ones we usually eat), crispy garam masala olives, tahina and labneh dips, crackers, pita breads (that are quite crispy) and parsley salad. But if you're on a keto diet, then Zucchini Parmigiana is what you should opt for. It's basically zucchini and mozzarella rolls served in a tomato gravy. Pizza lovers must go for the Not So Cheesy Pesto Pizza or Picante.

Last but not the least. You can't leave without trying the Earl Grey Tea Cake made using Earl Grey tea obviously. It's not too sweet and makes for the perfect end to your meal.

Pro-Tip

They have a separate (thank God!) hookah section if that's what you prefer.
