Balwant Singh Eating House

Balwant Singh is a crowd favourite, making it the perfect place to start this list. It has gloriously completed more than a century in the business and holds a very special place in the heart of Kolkata. What makes it stand out is the fact that it is open 24 hours a day. Conveniently located and pocket-friendly, it serves the tastiest food all day long. It is iconically known for its Kesar Chai, Doodh Cola, Amritsari Kulcha, and Tikka Platters. It serves only vegetarian food, but we bet you won't miss non-vegetarian food at all. Other must-haves include Chole Bhature, Aloo Parantha and Lassi. It's a great idea to drop here after a night out with your friends for the most comforting and filling food ever.

Shibuji

Shibuji in Kolkata is synonymous with Soda Shikanji. Located on Shakespeare Sarani, this spot also serves up the best flavoured Kulfis and Pav Bhaji. You can pull up at Shibuji in your car, park it nearby and wait for one of the boys to come and take your order, conveniently enjoying the food inside your car. A few of their famous Kulfi flavours include Chikoo, Sitaphal, Kesar, Coconut and Mango. Their sandwiches and Dal Vada are quite filling, paired best with a good glass of Soda Shikanji.

Goutam's

Goutam's is another great place to hang out late at night with your friends or family. It is reasonably priced and has multiple outlets across the city. We'd suggest you try out their Schezwan rice, Manchurian, Egg Rolls, Masala Coke and Cold Coffee. Particularly during summers, it's worth the drive to get a cold coffee here and a regular hot coffee in winter.

Though their entire menu is a foodie's paradise, we'd recommend you try out their OGs —Dal Makhani, Kadai Paneer, Vegetable Pakoras, Chicken Tangri Kebab, Soya Chaap, Kashmiri Aloo Dum, Malai Kofta and Cream Palak. Jam House

Probably one of the very few places in town that serves food with hookah until 5 AM, Jam House is essentially Kolkata's first music-themed cafe, which is every Bollywood lover's dream come true. It has impeccable cosy vibes with dim lighting, great food, and outstanding live music sessions. They serve North Indian, Italian, Chinese, and Mexican cuisines. We love the Chinese Platter, which comes with soup, Hakka noodles, fried Mexican rice with jacket potato, crispy chili baby corn, Chimichangas (veggies cooked in tomato sauce and wrapped with corn tortillas), and aglio olio pasta.
