Sur Jahan or the World Peace Music Festival is all set to take the stage for the seventh consecutive year, from February 2 to February 4, at Mohar Kunj.
This will be an event you wouldn’t want to miss. The World Peace Music Festival celebrates cultural plurality through music from all corners of the globe. Musicians from more than 25 countries and 10 Indian states will take part in this festival.
If listening to multicultural forms of music irrespective of style, language and origin is something you enjoy, this music festival is right up your alley. And not just music, the festival also provides a platform for rural, traditional handicrafts and folk performing artists showcasing their art forms.
All the best things in life come free, and this music festival is no exception! Imagine watching this awesome line-up performing live, for free — Tuuletar from Finland {an all-women vocalists’ group who won Austria’s Vokal Total Competition and were featured as the headlining act of Budapest Acapella Festival}, Muzykanci from Poland {an original Polish folk band who derive inspiration from the dark folk tales of their homeland, and have won the Grand Prix of Polish radio}, Cheikh Lo from Senegal {whose style is a mix of mbalax, reggae and soukous influences with an Afro beat bassline as a homage to his West African roots}, the Atre Tewodros Project from Ethiopia {who create a fusion of Ethiopian and Italian folk music}, and much more.
It doesn’t end there, you can not only watch these glorious artists perform live at Mohar Kunj, but you can also attend workshops by them! Check out their Facebook page here for daily schedules and timings.
