What Makes It Awesome

Living Free, an eco store in Ballygunge, stocks everything from designer clothing to artisanal cheese and chocolates. Head here if you want to add some understated style to your wardrobe or home, or a hint of gourmet deli goods to your kitchen stock.

Living Free is a concept store with an eclectic collection of designer clothing and accessories, ceramics, handpicked books and stationery, wellness products, and organic foods. Browse through racks of designer clothing made from natural fabrics and ecological textiles. The store also holds pop-up events of new collections. You can have your pick from their range of minimalistic, and very elegant clothing. They showcase different designers and brands from time to time. For instance, their stock of sarees by Vraj:bhoomi has us drooling with the reinvention of an age-old craft, ajrak, into contemporary pieces with contrasting patterns and colours. The collection of jewelry includes pieces by Mayabazaar using traditional crafting processes in an urban context.

They have an interesting stock of organic food and wellness products which they source from all over the country. Think condiments like jamun preserves, whisky-infused marmalades, perfumes, handmade soaps and bottles of amazing coconut oil from the Andamans. The food items include a range of organic, gourmet handmade cheeses  made without preservatives, artificial flavours, colours or emulsifiers.

Pro Tip

This can be a kind of one-stop gift buying destination. You can make a nice basket as a gift for someone special with a collection of cheeses, preserves, chocolates, tea and coffee. Throw in a book from the exquisitely produced range by Tara Publishing or Kokaachi and a Mughal-era inspired bookmark and you have the perfect gift basket.
