Time has come for DC and Marvel fans to unite, as the first superhero-themed café has arrived in town — in the form of Café HQ.

What Is It?

Here’s a little intro to the new kid on the block {if you haven’t been there yet} — when we say it’s fully superhero-themed, we really mean it! The décor, the dishes, even the lights will remind you of the heroes {and villains} you grew up with. Everything about Café HQ is Insta-worthy.

We loved the panel of the Joker made up of the best of his lines {“I am not a monster, I am just ahead of the curve”}. It’s located close to the Rabindra Sarobar metro station in a quiet lane.

Chow Down

Café HQ’s Chinese {and some Thai elements} menu is just fresh out of the oven, and we can vouch for how amazing it is. Think the classics — Kung Pao Chicken, Thai Green Curry, Pan Fried Noodles, Hakka Noodles, Veg Cantonese and the likes. Not only do they feel like a riot of oriental flavours in your mouth, they offer generous amounts for affordable prices, ranging from INR 160 and going up to INR 300 for the prawn dishes.

Fair warning though, their Kung Pao Chicken is not for the faint-hearted! And did we mention the amazing Thanos Steak {INR 375} we had at Café HQ? If you aren’t savvy for beef, this chicken steak is the next best thing you can have to get the ultimate steak experience.

The starters are fresh. The Thai Spring Rolls were tender and served with the most amazing dip ever. And we also loved the Wasabee Cottage Cheese {INR 205} — the wasabi mayonnaise adds such a great twist to the classic paneer.

They do burgers, sandwiches and pizzas well. The juicy Superman Burger has a thick lamb patty topped by caramelised onions. Another standout is the Aquaman Burger {INR 235}. Who knew fish could taste so great between two buns? You can read about the regular menu in this recommendation.

Sip On

Get your boomerangs ready when you order Sparkling Espresso {espresso shots fused with watermelon soda — they make it in front of you}, not only does it look fascinating it tastes like nothing we have had before and gives just the right kick. Or try the yum Batsy’s Crunchy Oreo Shake for INR 175 which unlike most Oreo shakes doesn’t weigh down on your appetite. Mr. Freeze’s Icy Spicy Blueberry is also pretty cool as it adds a blueberry twist to the classic shikanji.

Anything Else?

The desserts include pies like Harley Quinn’s Apple Pie with Ice Cream and a delightful Tiramisu for INR 110, the Harley Quinn’s Apple Pie with Ice Cream for INR 150 and Spidey’s Webbed Walnut Brownie with Ice Cream for INR 135. They are also bringing out a range of delicious dry cakes for the Christmas season.

If you’re a college student looking for some great discounts at Café HQ, you can enroll in their campus ambassador programme. For more details, just get in touch with the restaurant.
