Lifestyle brand Me Meraki is going to conduct an online Phad painting workshop on Zoom held by artist Kalyan Joshi. So if you've been trying to learn this folk art form hailing from Rajasthan, now is your chance. Kalyan Joshi comes from a lineage of Phad painters of the 13th century and started to paint when he was just eight, under the guidance of his father Padma Shree Lal Joshi. This will be a two-hour class for beginners where adults or children above 8 years can join. Me Meraki has been conducting these live online sessions to support the artist community. All the revenue from the workshops is passed on to the artists. The session is restricted to 10 participants, so that everyone can get individual attention and discuss with the artists. There are certain materials which you'll need for the workshop, including paper (this painting is about regular A4 size, slightly smaller), brushes from size 0 to size 5/6, acrylic or poster colours and black rotoring pen for outlines.
