Want major couple and fashion inspiration? Husband-wife duo Ankita Dokania and Shubham Kasera’s menswear brand {which started in March 2017} is all about minimal yet modern fashion. What’s adorable is that the brand began at the same time the duo tied the knot. The idea for Suta & Co came when Shubham was looking for minimal outfits but couldn’t find any in the city so he decided to design his own.

All the fabrics used in the outfits are handwoven in Murshidabad and ethically sourced. Minimal synthetic material is used and local artisans are promoted so you know your outfit is a win not just for you but also for an artisan in Murshidabad.

The collection has colours that are earthy {think orange, browns and shades of green} and each design has signature embellishments which will make you stand out this festive season. There’s minimal embroidery {if you don’t want to look too flashy!}. And if embroidery is used at all, it is handstitched kantha.

The couple also takes major inspo from their travels abroad. Most recently, they loved fabric they found in Zanzibar and are planning on using their trip to Kenya as inspiration for their next collection. Buttons, chains and other detailing is sourced from these places as well.

The collection starts at INR 7,000 and goes up to INR 14,000. You can check it out in their outlet on Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Road. They’ll even make adjustments to the size of the outfit so it fits you just right.
