What Makes It Awesome

If you can't get enough of traditional Indian wear, then, hit up designer Naina Jain's store in Salt Lake. It's a pop of colours the moment you enter the store. The brand does sarees, lehengas, suits, kurtis, blouses and dupattas for both casual and occasion wear. All of it is handmade by craftsmen from across the country. The label only works with pure fabrics like georgette, silk, crepe, chiffon, tussar silk, cotton and kota doria. The embroidery is also done by hand (no machines please!). But it's their bandhani range that has our heart. The outfits, created by master craftsmen from Kutch, have been given a modern twist - a blend of classic luxury and urban chic combined with paradoxical textiles and shapes.

We spotted a sultry yellow bandhani on an organza saree guaranteed to turn heads at any function or get-together. Pair it up with their white yoke chikankari blouse and you're all set for, say, a haldi or mehendi ceremony. Watch out for their pure zari kota saree with bandhani - this combination can never go wrong. We also loved their Red Peacock saree - a paithani style Banarasi saree.

You'll find a lot of patchwork and applique on Naina's creations along with paithani and kota weaving. The pieces have aari, zardozi, chikankari, gota patti, thread work, French knots and mukaish embroideries done on them.

Prices for lehengas start at INR 48,000 while sarees cost INR 13,500 and upwards.

Pro-Tip

They do customisations as well, so don't worry about that perfect fit.
