Nathula Pass is located about 60 km uphill from Gangtok, this mountain pass was once a part of the old Indo-China Silk Route. You will have to acquire a permit to visit and it is advisable if you start early to avoid traffic congestion. The beautiful Changu Lake falls on the way which is an ideal spot to dab in some nature photography. On the top(after climbing some steps), you could see the Indo-China Border, a war memorial, and an exhibition centre of the Indian Army. If you get too cold, don’t fret for there is a military canteen where you can get a cup of hot tea.
