Cosplay, Sherlock & FIFA: The Nerd Con In Kolkata Has Something For Everyone

Brace yourselves for Halloween, the largest nerd-con, NerdMeet 3.0 in the city is here {and it even has a cosplay competition}.

If you don’t know what NerdMeet is all about, think of it as a really cool frat party in college, where you can meet a whole gang of like-minded pop-culture lovers, play your favourite games over food and drinks, and attend some really enlightening panel discussions about pop-culture, gaming and everything in between. Oh, and there are some really happening musical acts lined up too!

Have a TV show, movie franchise, or band you can fangirl for hours about? Love spending your free time on your gaming station? Are comic books your favourite idea of me-time? Then head out this weekend to Mukti World where the party is for pop-culture- loving millennials from all across town.

For starters, it is all set to be a gamer’s paradise – live gaming stations with FIFA 18, Overwatch and Tekken 7, discussions on gaming and a gaming showcase involving Assasin’s Creed Origins, Destiny 2, Road Redemption and South Park. They will also have a comic book panel, an anime quiz and a host of board games at the venue to keep you entertained. Techies, don’t feel left out – there’s a panel discussion based on hardware for you too!

And what is Halloween without a costume party? NerdMeet will have a cosplay competition on both days {there are prizes too!} and a discussion on cosplay by Rheality Lapse.

For techies, there’s a BYOC showcase – which is essentially a workshop on how to make customised PCs.

And here’s what makes the party even better – 221B Baker Street will be setting up a food stall, and city musicians like Deep Phoenix, The Radical Array Project and Varun Desai will be taking the stage.
