Love Me Twice

Its success and founder Mridula Pai’s desire to contribute to a sustainable fashion world turned it into a full-blown thrift label that now has its own store at the same place. The collection features carefully curated and thoroughly cleaned second-hand clothes and accessories from well-known brands and closets of celebrities like Priyanka Bose and Karuna Ezara Parikh. With diverse and vibrant styles and designs on offer, this thrift store is a must-visit.

Places To Visit

Buddhist Pagoda At Eden Gardens Park

One of the oldest parks in the city, the Eden Gardens Park is home to a beautifully decorated pagoda that was brought to the city directly from Burma after following the Anglo-Burmese War in 1854. We know it’s not exactly a new place to visit but this Tazaung architectural marvel has suddenly gained immense popularity and caught the attention of people. The pagoda is surrounded by statues of mythological creatures and intricate wood carvings. There’s also a lake adjacent to it.

Apur Sansar Park

After Feluda Theme Park and Professor Shonku Park, Kolkata is now home to Apur Sansar Park that features murals and buildings paying tribute to Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay and Satyajit Ray. It also houses a museum and an archive dedicated to the late legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee and, of course, Ray. The museum building is similar to the house where Apu lived in the movie, the railway tracks, and the outline of Apu played by Chatterjee have been recreated in this barrier-free park.

Alipore Jail Museum

The historic Alipore Central Correctional Home has recently been converted into a museum and memorial to honour the sacrifices of those who fought for the independence of the country. The museum has paintings, photographs, maps of India during various periods of history, statues of the freedom fighters, letters, documents, artifacts, and installations on display depicting the country’s freedom struggle during British rule. Quite an interesting place to visit, we think!

Another lavish addition to the city’s night-life scene, Space Bar and Kitchen is a spacious property done up in rose gold metallic tones, glossy flooring, onyx tables, luxury Chester-style sofas, and custom-made matrix lights. Their resident DJ makes sure that the party keeps going all night long while you enjoy your favourite food and sip on some heady cocktails. Bubble N Tea Asian Cafe

The Salt Lake area just got a new hotspot in the form of Bubble N Tea Asian Cafe that offers original Thai Bubble Tea along with Asian and Continental food. Get a taste of authentic Korean dishes like Bibimbap, Korean Corndog, and Korean Chicken Wings. The wontons and gyozas are to-die-for. We also couldn’t get enough of the Japanese Cheesecake and Bubble Lava Chiffon Cake. Also, try the Brownie Boba Shake and the coffee options they’ve got.

Soba Sassy

A Pan-Asian culinary bar housed inside the Harrington Mansion on Ho Chi Minh Sarani, Soba Sassy offers a fusion of flavours from across Asia. It’s divided into two sections - Soba (a fine dining space) and Sassy (bar and lounge). The dimsums and signature artisanal cocktails are the star attractions of this place along with its stylish and artistic decor (think vibrant plum and emerald decor, walls adorned with faux flowers, a panda installation, handpainted wall murals, and an eye-catching cherry blossom tree).
