You can’t argue with pie, whether it’s in dessert form or pizza form. Apple, mud & shepherd’s — dig into a slice of pie today at these cafes and bakeries!

Afraa Deli

This uber chic deli in Salt Lake has an apple pie that has regulars coming back for. Take your slice of heaven to the outside seating area, watch the shoppers walk past and bite into a flaky, cinnamon-y slice of heaven. They also do a tart strawberry pie that berry-lovers swear by.

8th Day Café

8th Day has a seasonal pumpkin pie which is brings the American ‘autumn pumpkin spice’ rage to the city. The pie has a flaky crust and a smooth, fresh pumpkin filling with just the right amount of spice to tingle your desi tastebuds. Washed down with a strong cup of coffee, you’ll be fuelled for the rest of the day.

Cakes

Let’s go back to basics, folks. If you want a home-y hearty chunk of apple pie that you can take hime, heat slightly in the microwave and then dump a large scoop of vanilla ice cream onto, you need to heada to Cakes and load up on their apple pies. Each pie is decently portioned, is stuffed with chunks of apple pie and comes with a basket weave over the top. The apple pie tastes best when eaten fresh, straight out of their oven, but it still lasts for a few days if you refrigerate it.

Don Giovannis

Our go-to place for when we can’t decide which cuisine to order {they have everything from continental food to Thai}. Don Giovannis makes a mean Shepherd’s Pie. With a layer of saucy meaty goodness {you can specify whether you want lamb or chicken} topped with a generous heap of mashed potatoes and baked to perfection, this pie is everything you need if you’re craving meat. Even when home delivered, the pie tastes amazing {and even better when re-heated for a midnight snack!}.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Looking for pure indulgence? Coffee Bean’s chocolate mud pie is a chocolate haven. They warm it slightly before serving it and when you cut into it, the molten chocolate on the inside just oozes out. It’s a little on the heavy side so we recommend you share it with someone {if you’re up for sharing that is!}. It’s always a struggle to get place in this super popular café in Quest so we recommend you avoid it over the weekend.

Hungry Tide

This takeaway QSR is your hunger saviour. Hungry Tide has a couple of outlets, one better than the other and all delivering hearty, filling meals in no time. They do both a mutton and a veggie {yes, veggie as well!} baked shepherd’s pie which is everything you need when you’re getting hangry. You should Pro Tip: Their portions are pretty big so you may want to order less than you usually do. You should definitely try their variety of fried rice dishes if you want some serious pet pujo.
