We stumbled across Cocoa Bakery and fell in love with its quaint vibe, wooden decor, sunlight streaming in and the gorgeous view it has of tennis courts.
Quaint Decor & A View Of Tennis Courts: Cocoa Bakery Is So Charming
Shortcut
Everything To Love
Tucked away in a little lane off AJC Bose Road {the lane is most well known for housing Ashok Hall school and now Artsy Cafe}, Cocoa Bakery is quaint and picture perfect. The wooden interiors with the sunlight streaming in adds a charming effect to the whole place. Probably the only cafe in Kolkata with such a unique view, Cocoa Bakery lends a gorgeous, panoramic view of Punjab Club’s tennis courts where veterans, kids and everyone in-between spend hours on the clay courts in the hopes of becoming the next Federer.
The tin roof adds to the character of the place. If you missed going on winter vacation this year, don’t feel too bad. This bakery look straight out of Darjeeling or like something you would stumble upon while walking down the beach in Goa. You definitely won’t feel like you are in Calcutta!
Find Your Light
Morning or night, the bakery is stunning. The daylight sees winter sunlight streaming in. As the sun sets, there’s a warm, orangey glow that envelops the entire bakery. At night, they switch on these pretty fairylights and street lights that run around the bakery creating a fascinating play with light and shadow.
Chow Down & Sip On
Warm cups of tea and steaming mugs of coffee, Cocoa Bakery is where you want to be to enjoy a cuppa. They also have a couple of small bites on the side. We particularly like the savoury pastries. Have a sweet tooth? They have quite a few desserts and pastries to choose from: cheesecake, dry cakes, and more.
#LBBTip
The lane is very narrow {you may have to squeeze your car in} but there’s ample parking just beside the bakery. Before you enter, on the right, there’s an open park where you can spend a quiet evening.
