While we were in the middle of our routine scouting for the day, we stopped in front of this nameless bookstore in Esplanade. The store was the size of a small street side stall and looked like a perfect still frame from a classic 70s movie.
At first glance, the store might appear to be unappealing and look like an ordinary shop. But a 'Rs 100 only' poster stuck on the top left corner of the stall will drag you back even if you walk past it. Named Rai Book Distributor, the books are stacked up in a very organised manner, and the store keeper wasn't even there when we were going through the collection.
From educational books, to encyclopedia, from children's books to hardcore non-fiction, the store offers you a lot. Right in front of us, was kept on a table, Guy Mountfort's 'Saving The Tiger', and we don't even have to tell you how good the book is if you have a deep interest about tigers. Apart from that, we spotted 'The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library', 'Harley Quinn and The Suicide Squad: An Adult Colouring Book', books on Lady Gaga and allergy-free living, among others.
You will find that there are more non-fiction books than the fictional ones. But we couldn't contain our excitement when we spotted 'U2 by U2,' the famous and iconic autobiography of legendary Irish rock band U2. You will find books on arts, culture, politics, travel and wildlife, to name a few genres.
