Hit Up These Places In The City For Mouthwatering Iftar Specials

The holy month of Ramzan is a time of fasting, gathering and celebrating with your loved ones. And no celebration can be complete without food, of course, especially when the festival is synonymous with the most lip-smacking and mouthwatering delicacies (think kebabs, haleem, and biryani) available across Kolkata. A walk along the lanes of Kidderpore, Dacres Lane, and Zakaria Street during Ramadan will tell you what we’re talking about. Having said that, there are many restaurants in the city serving delectable iftar specials. Hit up these places for some of the best Ramadan food spreads in the city. 

Kareem's

Break bread together at Kareem’s this Ramadan with their special Iftar menu featuring traditional dishes like Haleem, Badami Pulao, Mixed Veg Handi, Paneer Lababdar, Chicken Chargha, Chicken Adraki Handi, Mutton Pasinda, Fish Butter Masala, Prawn Tawa Pulao, Keshariya Roomali Roti, Taftan, Kabuli Naan and much more. Aminia

No Iftar party is complete without a visit to Aminia. This iconic restaurant has been serving the city for over 90 years and is back yet again with a lip-smacking delicacy called Shahi Haleem, available in both chicken and mutton options. It’s an amazing blend of meat, lentils, rice, spices, and a generous amount of ghee. It’s cooked to perfection for hours and garnished with chopped coriander leaves and fried onions. Tempted already? Head to JW Kitchen this Ramadan for their Eid dinner menu called ‘Nawab and Nizam’. It has been specially curated by their in-house chef Abdul Quddus and features exquisite vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialties as well as signature dishes like haleem, biryani, kebabs, Chap e-Gulistan, Gosht Gilafi Seekh, Raan E- Quddusi, Shahi Narangi Murgh, and more. Order in from Marriott Bonvoy On Wheels between 4.30 PM and 6.30 PM in case you want to break your fast within the comfort of your home.

ITC Sonar

ITC Sonar has launched its special menu called ‘Ruhaniyat’ that features some of the best and super delicious dishes that are gonna take your Eid celebrations several notches higher. Dumpukht, their in-house restaurant, is serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian set menus comprising different kinds of kebabs, haleem, dal, biryani, different kinds of vegetable preparations, and chicken and mutton varieties. This is one feast you just cannot miss!

The Old Delhi

This new restaurant located in Sarat Bose Road has cooked up quite a storm. Their Ramadan special menu features a sumptuous spread of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes like Afghani Paneer Tikka, Old Delhi Style Butter Chicken Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kebab, Galouti Kebab, Nalli Nehari, Chicken Awadhi Korma, Khamiri Roti, and Chicken/Mutton Biryani along with Shahi Tukda and Phirni for dessert.

Moti Mahal Delux

This one never disappoints. Head to Moti Mahal Delux and savour some interesting appetisers, mains, and dessert. The menu features Murgh Gilafi Seekh Kebab, Mutton Burra, Nizami Subz Korma, Murgh Mussallam, Rara Meat, Roganjosh, Dal Gosht, Gosht Moti Mahal Biryani, Murgh Dum Biryani, and Mutton Keema Naan. End the meal on a sweet note with their delicious Firni and Matka Kulfi.

Oudh 1590

This one is an all-time favourite. We love Oudh 1590 for their absolutely delicious Awadhi food that is made using traditional cooking methods. This time, they’ve come up with specials like Nargisi Kofta, Keema Kaleji, Awadhi Murgh Malai, Awadhi-Style Murgh/Gosht Chaap, Dal Gosht, and Nehari Khaas, among other lip-smacking dishes.
