Ride Around On Kolkata’s First Bike Taxi Service At Just INR 5/km

Sick of being stuck in traffic? K Bike Taxi will now take you a cheap and hassle free-travel alternative to app cabs.

Need a ride to work? Want to pop in to your friends place for a drink? If you live in the Rajarhat area, commuting to and from work just became a cake-walk. Ditch the super expensive cabs, bike-taxis are here to stay. You’re guaranteed a safe ride, trained riders and they even provide you with helmets and disposal cabs to maintain a high level of hygiene.

The app also comes with a helpline and they’re even looking to install a physical panic button in case of emergencies. All the features you find in an Ola or an Uber like a ride tracker, fare estimation and more are available for a safe and happy journey.

You can only book a cab in the New Town, Rajarhat, Salt Lake, Sector V areas and they operate in an approximately 5 km radius around there. K Bike Taxis will be available between 8 am and 8pm – if you work in the IT sector, it’s a dream come true! This one-man taxi can be booked using the K Bike Taxi app, calling on the phone or hail a taxi like you would with a car.

With a base fare of INR 20 for the first two kilometres, every additional kilometre is just INR 5 with the waiting charge as low as 1 paisa – literally the cheapest mode of transport in the area! Both cash and PayTM are accepted and a pr-paid wallet is also in the works.

Entrepreneurs {who happen to be childhood friends as well!}, Imran Mustafa and Fidous Kalim, are also looking to train female riders for the service so that women are comfortable booking a cab. Girl Power!
