Ambrosia, once a dance-bar in Salt Lake, has now turned into a family restaurant and bar and is offering a scrumptious Bengali thaali for Poila Boishakh.

Say What?

You must come here with your squad or fam for the massive Bengali thaali. Dishes are purposely designed to alternate between sweet and spicy. The 12-course Poila Boishakh meal begins with the traditional “luchi”, “chholar daal” and “begun bhaja”, moving on to the bitter “shukto”, followed by “potoler dorma”, fish, prawns, chicken, chutney, sweets and the mandatory “mishit doi”. Phew! That’s a lot of food!

There are interesting variations on old favourites too. The “potoler dorma” is stuffed with posto {poppy seeds} and dry fruits instead of the usual shrimp. The egg in the Chicken Daakbungalow gravy is scrambled, instead of boiled.

The Bengali thaali is only available for one day, Sunday, 15 th April, Poila Boishakh and costs INR 650+ taxes. We also recommend the sticky, sweet and spicy Honey Garlic Fish and Prawn Tempura from the regular menu.

Anything Else?

Yes, they have some killer offers on alcohol too. For those tired of filing tax returns, the “Stress Buster” – 3 veg or non veg starters and 3 drinks for INR 550+ taxes. For IPL season there is the Tipsy Triplet offer, with alcohol at rock-bottom prices.
For bookings, contact: 033 2358 0809.
