Save The Date: This Sunday Watch International Classical Music Artists Perform For Free
Shortcut
What Is It?
Get ready for a musical treat this Sunday at Calling Calcutta With Love, an hour-long performance by international artists. Music by John Williams, Claude Debussy, Jimmy Dorsey and more will play the saxophone and piano four hand!
You’ll also get a taste of guest performers Jim Forger, Dean of the College of Music at Michigan State University, Deborah Moriarty, Chair of the Piano Department at Michigan State University and Jennifer Heemstra, pianist and founder of Pitch Pipe Foundation.
Who Is It For?
Lovers of classical music and those interested in the performing arts, this will be one concert that you won’t want to miss. It’s not advised for kids to be brought along – it’s more for those hard-core into the music scene.
Why Should I Go?
Because they’ll be playing piano four hand {which is extremely unique, rare and mesmerising}. Unlike a piano duet {which is two performers playing simultaneously on two different pianos}, a piano four hand is when two pianists play on the same piano. If you haven’t heard it before, it sounds like pure harmonic magic.
Anything Else?
Entry is free and you don’t even require passes. You can get a seat on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you want guaranteed entry though, you can pick up a pass from Paris Café, Ballygunge.
