What Makes It Awesome

Founded by Saras Kaushik, Secret Garden Seamstress is a slow fashion brand that makes clothes for women.

The brand's pieces are all ethically handcrafted or upcycled using different kinds of natural fabrics like handloom cotton, linen and silk among others. The collection includes skirts, co-ord sets, dresses, tops, shrugs and beret caps -  don't even get us started on how stunning, minimal yet stylish and elegant the designs are! Best part? They are very close to becoming a zero-waste brand. Isn't that awesome?

Our favourite picks? The Oakwood skirt made from 100% cotton twill with a pocket on one side (can hold a phone or anything of a similar size) and a zip closure on the other. Another personal favourite is the Marigold co-ord set in handloom cotton and the Indigo Blossom co-ords block-printed in 100% cotton comprising a sweetheart neckline and tie straps top along with a wrap skirt.

But if it's dresses that you are looking for, then the Lilac and Midnight Bloom shift dresses are the most beautiful and ideal options. The former is made of 100% linen and is priced at INR 1,500 while the latter is made from an upcycled silk saree from Saras' grandmothers old closet and is priced at INR 1,250 plus shipping. Best part? You can easily tuck it in and wear it as a top.
