If you live outside Kolkata, you probably have already shopped online at Byloom, because where else will you get such gorgeous sarees and at such wonderful prices. If you live in Kolkata, well you are plain lucky, because Byloom, located in a quaint bungalow in Hindustan Park, is quite the experience. While online stocks always sell out super fast, at the store, you can go through a bigger selection of sarees. I love the fact that their cotton sarees come with such a wonderful drape, and are not stiff like the traditional numbers. Plus, the colour combinations and tassel details on their sarees are lovely. Prices start as low as INR 800 and you can score one of their adorable Calcutta print or animal print sarees at INR 1,733 only. Byloom also does kiddie clothes like kurtas, menswear, and fusion western wear for women.
Their upstairs section has a small room dedicated to just blouses and fabric, for you to match with your sarees. Plus, a room dedicated to just rows and rows of gorgeous sarees.

The service here is a bit slow, especially during rush hour just before Durga Pujo, when Kolkata goes nuts shopping. Weekends also tend to be crazy, so best avoid shopping then.

Since, the store does not have CCTV or a tagging system, they tend to check your purchases before you leave the boutique.
