The 350-year-old establishment has been tastefully restored, and the polite staff makes you feel valued as soon as you enter. It was formerly owned by West Bengal's aristocratic zamindars, who were renowned for their extravagant lifestyles and a rich past filled with stories of treachery, love, and intrigue. Dimly illuminated, regal beds with ceiling skylights provide a mysterious atmosphere. Large bathrooms, complete with fittings and a large copper-draped bathtub awaits you at this resort near Kolkata.
The display is stunning and worthy of a photograph. It brilliantly depicts the essence of Bengal's rich past. The hospitality is flawless.It is also a Bollywood landmark—Rituparno Ghosh's 2003 film Chokher Bali, which starred Aishwarya Rai, and Anvita Dutta's Bulbbul, starring Tripti Dimri, were both filmed here. A must try is the Zamindari thali, which is served at the Thakurdalan. In the evening, just like any other Bengali family in the area, they enjoy a mouthful of jhaalmuri, samosas, and chai or masala chai before the sandhya aarti. If you reserve the Zamindari Suite, your Pinterest and Instagram mood boards will be adorned with historic architectural features like marble flooring, antique poster beds, and lamps that create shadows in a highly photogenic frame.
Wander around the renovated pond at the rear of the courtyard and admire the art deco tables adjacent to dragon statues in the Chinese manner. The dungeon known as Jail Khana has lovely antique furniture and other restored items inside. For a 2-hour village stroll tour, borrow one of the bicycles and start out on a 12-kilometre journey down the riverfront and learn the many diverse crafts and ways of life.

How To Reach: You can take a bus operated under CSTC from Raj Bhavan to Charial Bazar in Maheshtala and take a taxi after. Or you can directly book your private car or drive your own car to the resort on your own. By train, you can book a ticket from Sealdah Station to Budge Budge Station and then ride the autorickshaw.
