Located on a leafy lane near FabIndia on Hindustan Park Road, this small non-nonsense eatery is attached to a guest house. You walk through a courtyard with a huge mango tree, to the restaurant. The club was founded in 1926. The restaurant (it’s really a canteen for members) has been a favorite for many Kolkata people. Their dosas are among the crispiest in town. And the chutney is delicious. You have to try the adai – a thick dosa made with a combination of different kinds of dal.
