What Makes It Awesome

We all know that Gangtok is the gateway to the eastern Himalayas. And when we are going to such a beautiful town, we would definitely want to stay in an equally beautiful place. We are referring to the Summit Norling Resort & Spa.

The Summit Group is well-known for its chain of hotels in various mountainous regions, and Summit Norling lives up to that reputation. Surrounded by lush green hills, it is truly a serene place to stay in. Sitting on top of a ridge, the Norling is situated in the Rongey area, which is a 15-minute drive from MG Road.

One of the most elegant features of the resort is its wood-panelled ceilings in the lobby, restaurant and rooms. The resort spreads over an area of three acres and has 27 rooms to offer. These include deluxe rooms, premium rooms, family rooms and chalets, all of which have balconies with garden or mountain views. The cherry of the lot is undoubtedly the chalet room, which are double-deckered. The sitting area is extended to a balcony and the bed is on an elevated platform, for which one has to climb three steps.

The chalet rooms come with amenities like free WI-Fi, LED TV, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee maker, bed slippers, work desk and chair, hair dryer, closet and on request ironing board. If you are going solo, with your partner or your friend, the deluxe and premium rooms would suffice.

Some of the other things that can keep you entertained or indulged at the resort are the in-house restaurant Tsomgo (serving Sikkimese, Continental, Chinese and north Indian cuisines), bar, spa, pond, a fire pit and a bamboo grove.

Pro-Tip

There is also a gym and a kids' playground area inside the resort.
