The Calcutta School of Music is one of the premier music institutions in India. Located in Ballygunge's Sunny Park, it is one of the few schools in the country which has such a wide ranging canvas of musical disciplines covering both Indian and western, classical and contemporary music, dance, drama and speech. They follow a graded course and offer diplomas under the three UK Boards.
World famous musicians like Yehudi Menuhin, Zubin Mehta, Isaac Stern, Mstislav Rostropovich and Pt. Ravi Shankar have performed at concerts organised by the School. Some of you might have the desire to be a part of an orchestra. Guess what? CSM financially supports a full-time orchestra called the Calcutta Chamber Orchestra. An opportunity for you to join the orchestra once you finish your lessons!
All the classrooms are air-conditioned and you can even access their one-of-a-kind musical library. Fees start at INR 430 and can go up to INR 13,000 depending on the level and frequency of classes you opt for. The institute has been producing musical prodigies for more than 100 years, so you know you're in good hands.
