Others can fault us as much as they want for our love of festivals, but we Kolkatans are a happy bunch who loves to make the most of every occasion. And though Saraswati Puja, Durga Puja, Basata Utsav and others will keep coming every year, it's time we add to this list the festival of celebrating our own beloved city.
Tell us to talk about Kolkata, and we can go on forever to show you how stunning, unique and iconic our city is. The Kolkata Festival (TKF) is set to show you the same through music, art, food, people, photography, dance and lots more. A ten-day festival spread out across in different parts of the city, TKF will be starting on February 1 and will go on till Feb 10.
From decking up your neighbourhood walls with art to photo exhibitions, music concerts, dance recitals and even art awards. Save the dates in your calendar to catch artists like Gianni Dennito (sax player), Francis Lepcha, band Lakkhichara, Bickram Ghosh and Tanushree Shankar perform. The CIMA Art Awards will also be a part of the festival and you can catch it at the Gem Cinema Hall. Last, and definitely not the least, the festival will also host a pop-up food bazaar on the last day at New Market where you can binge your heart out on street food.
