Bombay Brasserie

Bombay Brasserie without a doubt is one of the finest restaurants in the city. With a menu dedicated to India and its regional cuisine, this restaurant justifies the spirit of the Indian cuisine in its truest sense.

Keeping in mind the flavourful palate of the city dwellers, they recently introduced a new menu that has a fine blend of North and South Indian dishes with attention to detail. With pujo around the corner, we feel like the timing couldn't have been any better.  From a Madurai Mushroom (mini dosai topped with Southern Style Mushrooms, tempered with fennel, black pepper and curry leaf, served with Coconut Aioli), and Smoked  Madras Lollipop (tandoor Roasted Lollipops with Chilli Tamarind Sauce and Madras Podi), to Spicy meetha achar chicken (homemade Murabba rubbed chicken kebabs with lemon zest and pickled chillies), Shetty hotel chicken & dosai (chicken in a dry Mangalorean “sukka” masala of roasted coconut , curry leaf and dry roasted spices, paired with mini dosai), Himachal khatta meetha mutton (slow cooked mutton with rustic “pahadi” spices – a blend of powdered fennel, Kashmiri red chilli, coriander seeds and a touch of “amchur” for that sour tinge. Delicious with chur chur paratha), and Marwari papad kofta (papad crusted paneer & vegetable koftas in a cardamom scented cashew gravy), they've done an incredible job at refining these local recipes that are otherwise bound between the states.

There's also a Bengali style Panchphoran (Bengali five spice) Fish (fish kebab rubbed and roasted in Bengal’s flavourful “ Panch Phoran” spice blend and topped with a home made “jolpai” – olive chutney) that is an ode to Bengal and it's local fare.

We're also rooting for the two new cocktails namely Smoked apple and Bi Bhitaki is quite the revelation. Smoked apple is Smoky, striking and delicious. It is made with whiskey, port wine, date syrup and Angostura Bitters, finished off with a delicate wisp of apple smoke - perfect for cocktail nights, while Bi Bhitaki draws inspiration from ancient Ayurveda with triphala, gin and a zesty burst of passion fruit to give it an earthy yet sweet aftertaste! In other words, this is perfect if you're looking something other than the usual pujo affair.
