Hit up Westin Kolkata for a lavish Parsi feast to celebrate Navroz, Seasonal Tastes, their all–day dining eatery is hosting a Parsi food festival - ‘Sagan Nu Patru Jamva Chalo Ji’ - till 31st March. Specialty chef Mahrukh Mogrelia has come down from Mumbai to line up authentic Parsi delicacies for you. She is a 5th generation member of a Mumbai Parsi family and has been cooking for close to 30 years, showcasing the delights of Parsi food across the world. The Mumbai resident has been welcoming guests to her ancestral home and preparing delicious Parsi meals for years now. She’s also been conducting cooking classes for those keen on learning a few dishes.
The menu will be laid out as a part of the buffet with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options leaving guests spoilt for choice. Dig into the traditional flavours which have been perfected over years in Parsi households like ‘akuri’ and ‘par eda’, patrela jhinga’, ‘patra ni macchi’, ‘fish patiyo’, ‘saas ni macchi’, ‘salli boti’, ‘pulao dal’, ‘jhiga curry rice’, ‘Parsi pulao’, and of course, ‘dhanshak’.
You must experience chef Mahrukh’s signature dish, The Circle of Life. The simplicity of hand-ground, minced mutton finds compatibility with roast chicken and subtle flavours of mash potatoes compliment the meat.
Though Parsi food is meat-heavy, you will find many vegetarian substitutes and options at the fest. to enjoy. The restaurant will be done up in true Parsi style.
