Bourekas, Fish Shooftas & Hulbah: The Jewish Food Festival At This Iconic Park Street Eatery Is Lunch Goals

What Is It?

Trinca’s, the 58-year-old restaurant on Park Street, where Usha Uthup and Biddu once used to perform, is having a Jewish Food Festival and we decided to sample the menu.

Who Is It For?

Anyone who is looking for more variety on Park Street, other than the usual continental and Chinese. Trinca’s is a cosy little eatery with live bands every evening. It’s a great place to catch up with friends over a drink or a meal.

Why Should I Go For It?

For the unique flavours of Jewish food. According to chef Sajjadul Haque, Jewish food is similar to Mediterranean cuisine, isn’t greasy and uses very few Indian spices. There are plenty of options for vegetarians too. We recommend the Bourekas — puff pastry filled with spinach and cheese and served with a cucumber salad or the Fish Shooftas, a kebab made of minced fish and served with a fenugreek dip called Hulbah.

Anything Else?

The Trinca’s Jewish Food Festival started on March 21 and will be continuing till April 10. They have a fixed menu at INR 595 that comes with a glass of Grover’s Wine {this is only available between 12 noon to 3:30PM every day}. They also have an a la carte menu, available throughout the day, every day, with prices ranging from INR 295 to INR 450. For table bookings, you can contact 033 22297825 or +91 8240259201.
