A shack in the middle of Kolkata? Well, yes. bookmark 'Hobe Naki?', a beautiful café by a pukur or pond in Santoshpur.
Hobe Naki is inspired and modelled on the idea of a shack due to which the look and feel of the café is quite unique from the regular ones we are used to visiting. There are cafés in Kolkata with an outdoor seating arrangement but Hobe Naki's set up beside a pond just elevates the whole feel of sitting and chilling with your friends. There is a funky graffiti at the entrance while the interiors are done up using bamboo, comfortable tables and chairs.
The café is divided into three sections, including two decks, one of which is just beside the jheel. This area can be really romantic in the evenings since the view is magnificent and perfect for a date with your partner. The third section is an AC room, for those who don't want the outdoor seating.
What can you eat here? They have a lot of options in nibbles and it won't pinch your pocket much. Choose from the cheesy chicken sausage, gondhoraj chicken, Korean chicken with spicy mayo, Korean fish, gondhoraj fish and purda kebab. But if you want something more filling, try the cheesy chicken fritata or fish in lemon butter sauce.
An amazing place by the waters, with delicious, pocket-friendly food and a few guitars -- it has all you need for a perfect time with your gang.
